Graham Evans named General Manager of Vonage’s new Melbourne office to lead expansion and rollout of Vonage’s Flagship UCaaS Product

Holmdel, NJ (January XX, 2019 - TBD) -- Vonage (NYSE: VG), a business cloud communications leader, today announced it has named Graham Evans Vice President and General Manager for Australia. As part of its continued global expansion, Vonage is augmenting its existing presence and operations in the Asia Pacific region to address the growing demand for unified communications in the Australian market.

Vonage already has an office in Sydney and has opened a new office in Melbourne, where Graham will be based.

Australia is a vibrant business environment with more than 2m businesses within its 25m population. In fact, Frost & Sullivan predicts that the Australian Unified Communications as-a-Service (UCaaS) market will grow to more than $1 billion by 2021.

The market growth, coupled with the rollout of the Australian government-owned National Broadband Network (NBN), will dramatically improve the broadband infrastructure for the entire Australian population, for consumers and businesses alike, particularly with the recent release of NBN’s Business products. With just under 8 million premises ready to connect, Australia’s NBN provides access to high speed bandwidth with the potential to drive a dramatic increase in the number of companies looking to make the transition to the cloud and the ability to fuel this growth in business cloud communications.

Graham is spearheading the rollout of Vonage’s new proprietary, cloud-native platform Vonage Business Cloud (VBC). Vonage Business Cloud was introduced last year in the U.S. and U.K., and has exceeded expectations, transforming how Vonage customers connect and collaborate internally for employees and externally with customers. Vonage has expanded the offering for the Australian market and, building on its existing business, will offer a comprehensive communications service that is fully integrated with programmable communications and cloud contact center solutions, unlike any other service available today.

“Graham brings tremendous expertise in communications sales and marketing to help us cement our foothold in this region by bringing Vonage Business Cloud to both new and existing Australian customers,” said Simon Burckhardt, Managing Director UC International, for Vonage. “Our extensive market research has revealed that there is a significant interest in moving to cloud-based technologies among Australian businesses. With a deep knowledge of this market, Graham will help lead our efforts across the country as we look for opportunities to enhance our growing list of APAC-based customers deliver better business outcomes.”

Graham brings more than 20 years of telecommunications experience in sales, marketing, product and general management to Vonage. Prior to Vonage, he had various roles at Vocus Ltd. (formerly M2 Telecommunications), an international telecommunications company headquartered in Sydney. In this role, Graham was responsible for Sales, Marketing & Product Management for the Commander Business unit, including developing and implementing the marketing plan, managing the internal and external Sales distribution channels, as well as product innovation and product lifecycle management.

Prior to Vocus, he was a Regional Manager at telecommunications company AAPT, where he was responsible for operations across Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia to provide sales leadership for both the Business and Wholesale Sales channels.

“I am very excited to be a part of a team that provides innovative cloud communications solutions to customers around the world,” said Graham. “I am eager to help the Company build upon its existing and considerable customer base in Australia, helping businesses to transform they way they do business and drive better business outcomes.”
